u003e Hi xxx,
u003e
u003e You know there really a way to the
u003e last date the file was modified to find. Would you allow me to show that indeed the
u003e document was last modified before the due date? I can just bring
u003e in my laptop and show you. If I could show my stupidity and
u003e awkwardness is legitimate, you will not please the doc points?
u003e
u003e Sincerely,

u003eu003e Hi xxx,
u003eu003e
u003eu003e course, your paper right in me. Ill have you give
u003eu003e half grade penalty for turning in a late paper. I realize that was a
u003eu003e stupid mistake on your part, I am not able to verify that the paper was
u003eu003e actually done on Thursday and it is unfair to other students you have extra time to
u003eu003e.

Best Answer: yes but it is vary vary hard

Re:OK, after some research I feel ok that you are asking this now ;)

Your best judge is going to be of character. Although, in the end there is always a good liar out there for you :|

I don't think that there is a way to check if the system clock has changed. The only real way I could see would be to do a system restore to an earlier point and see if the file had actually been created by then. But I am not positive that you can restore forward. And that is way too much trouble to go though for a paper.

There is not a good way to really check as far as I know, but good luck!

Re:well then now comes the inevitable question: how can I determine if my student modified the date or are they lyeing to me?

Re:Yeah. It's possible. There are programs that will let you change the date information of a file.

Re:it is possible but it is unlikley that a student would go through all the trouble or know exactly how to do it

Re:Edit:
What guy said

Re:hmmm I can tell you, I guess it will be to your own downfall as if school was important to you this would not be an issue.

Created and modified pulls information from your system clock. If you created it after your due date, then you will have to change your system clock then make a copy of the file, then change it to the time you want it modified and just put a space somewhere and then remove it. Save the document. Change your system clock back to what it is supposed to be.

If you actually did start the paper prior to the due date then you can simply skip the first part about creating it.
