Q: I do not know if this is the right place for this question, but Ill still shoot. Actually I have 3 computers in a totally different locations that I / remote operation in various thinga (music, etc.) download. I do a lot of downloading and dump a lot of files on my file server at home so its hard to keep what I have and what I have not so at one point may be in 3-4 different locations and before I take the data home. Q: I am setting up a file server on a spare box. Me also want to use ftp to access files outside the house to get. Q: I have a file server that two drives, one for the OS, and one had to file sharing. After an OS crash, Ive formatted the drive and reinstalled OS. That was about six months ago, no big deal, but now I get a call from a user without access to its documents. I look at the files on the file server and are referred to as encoded with zero file size. I restore our oldest backup, but the restored files are identical (we overwrite backups after 6 weeks). Q: I have a server set up with all the Mepis Linux (Ill turn off X and KDE to save for later RAM), and SMB installed.
