Re:ok running the McAfee now
interestingly enouhg, upon further review, the Add/Remove programs doesn't work (click and nothing happens) and if I try to launch the A/V Scanner (McAfee ASAP) it opens up with an all white window and does nothing.
me think foul play is at hand.
Re:Not sure what virus defenses or antispyware defenses you guys have, but start with these goodies: self-contained McAfee virus-scanning utility, right-click this link and save target (http://www.omnicast.net/~tmcfadden/scan.txt) and Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/winGenuineDecision.aspx?FamilyID=321cd7a2-6a57-4c57-a8bd-dbf62eda9671&displaylang=en).
Run the scans in Safe Mode, with System Restore disabled.
Re:try running scandisk and then defragment drive.
if that does not work, get hard drive diagnostic from manufacturer and test drive integrity.
Re:Did you run virus scan???
Get Mozilla and stop using IE.
