Q: I have this problem for quite some time. Every time I press a link, or go to a website that requires JavaScript, I see the link open in the program bar at the bottom of the screen for only a split second and disappears and nothing happens. Is there anything I can reinstall or whatever?
Thanks advance: confused:
Best Answer: JavaScript is different from Java.
Java is a programming language and JavaScript is just a script it will be interpreted by the browser.
The two had nothing to do with movies they are just an I/O and rely on third party software to run the Movies (like Media Player, REalPlayer, etc). Check the plugin of your browsers.
Re:maybe it's this too:
- JScript Engine is outdated (Get JScript Engine update plus DCOM)

Re:What browser are you using? Javascript should be compatible with Microsoft IE ver 4.0 and later.
Re:maybe try to reregister some stuff: use in a cmd prompt, regsrv.exe (something like that) urlmon.dll and url.dll and msjava.dll
Re:I didn't see anything under security for Java, and also Java was checked in the advance settings.
Re:I am pretty sure you can adjust it in a security setting in IE too but dont quote me on that
Re:What browser are you using?
If I recall correctly, in Mozilla it is possible to turn off javascript…
