Q: Travel to the other side of the state for two months. Looking for the possibility for my laptop wirelessly connect to the satellite or whatever means, to a fast broadband? I will be both active and studying online courses (sorry I do not use dial-up) 0.
I try to prevent additional DSL, new line, etc. Now Hope to connect broadband 24 / 7. Ive heard of going to Starbucks, Kinkos and all . I probably have no time to even go there. I just want back on my notebook and connect Damn right I away.
Give some advice. What way to go without broadband DSL modem?
Best Answer: check with your company if they are blocking any outside ip addresses. Also you can try tightVNC or winVNC if they work.
Re:sprint and some of the other wireless phone companies are now offering wireless internet. it is a little pricey (sprint was doing a special $80/month unlimited) but is a little faster than dial up and has the wireless flexibility
i have satellite at home, it is better than dial up . i see negative comments all the time, but i like it vs. dialup

SBC cable modem subscriber
SBC has cable ?
The cheapest would probably be DSL, but that requires a one year agreement in most cases. You may be able to find a local ISP with better terms here. :

Re:or if thiers cable where your going gett cable internet shouldn't be too bad and you can usually rent the modem

Re:Anybody experienced with T-Mobile's hotspot found in Starbucks, Kinkos, etc? Good… bad?
Oh yeah… I've been an SBC cable modem subscriber for 2 years now… I don't plan on taking that away since my family will be using but I just don't want to spend too much while I'm out.
Re:satalight is not worth it 700 bucks worth of equipment and a contrct for performance not that much better than dialup.
Re:You sure can. The catch ? Price. (http://directv.direcway.com/htb_two.html) If you need broadband, DSL is by far the cheapest option in most places.
